Hump day...

and so glad that it is. Ready for the weekend. We will be traveling to see Alan's family this weekend. Hopefully looking at some more furniture down there.

Got my hair chopped off yesterday. About 6 inches off. I am gonna go back on Friday and get some more layers added. I will just feel better then.

Just thankful for my health today. Something that I so take for granted, but was reminded of today. I took care of another 25 year old today who has already had 2 heart attacks. I guess at 25 we aren't immune to heart disease. Also at church tonight, someone told of a girl that just found out she has a brain tumor. She is only 22, and hasn't even graduated college yet. So thankful that God has allowed Alan and I to stay healthy.

I am planning a card/scrapbooking party for some of the girls at church. Bought stuff yesterday to make invites. Excited to share one of my favorite things to do with these girls. I will share the invites here when I get them done. :) I don't even have a date picked yet, so it may be a few days.

Also wanting and needing to have a yard sale soon so we can get rid of some junk. The weather is warming up, so it won't be long.

Well, I guess that's all for today. Leave me a comment.

Here's a peek at our new bedding...

We got our new king mattress on Saturday. Here is the new bedding! I think it turned out pretty well. It will look better when we get our new furniture in there.

Had to show this billboard on here. The message pertains to the Cardiac Cath Lab where I work.

these will soon be mine

Absolutely couldn't resist them! Since I am constantly sending cards and notes I am in constant need of cute stationary and cards. I found these at etsy.com. Awesome website with handmade everything. Which I absolutely love the idea of handmade, homemade, personalized, monogrammed...etc.

My everything...

My helpmeet. My handyman. My love. My balance. My listener. My first and only love. My partner in crime. My taxi. My sweetheart. My leader. My provider. My #1 fan.

My husband.

Just don't know what I'd do without him!

I love you honey!

Upward Basketball

On Saturday Alan and I had the privilege to watch our nephews play Upward basketball. They are so stinkin cute. See for yourself...

Home...

from Alabama. Got away for the weekend to Mom and Dad's. It's always nice to get away. Especially after a crummy week at work.

Last week was a "go into my shell" week. Something that is totally not me. Sometimes it is so hard to work around non-Christians. The negativity is like a a haze, just clouding up my view on life. In general the people I work with are just un-happy, searching-for-something, negative people. When you spend fourty plus hours with them it is so easy to be discouraged.

I just don't fit.

I am not comfortable there.

I am alone, except for Christ.

Yet we are called to NOT fit and we are called to be UN-comfortable.

To be in the world, but not of the world. To be set apart. To be the salt. To be the light. TO BE DIFFERENT.

This world is not our home!

I say all that to say this...

God places us where He wants us, for His glory.

I know I am where I am for a reason.

I know that He will never leave me, or forsake me.

And I gotta rest in the fact that one day I will be with Him in my eternal home...

Bet ya didn't know...

that Alan and I are redneck nascar fans. Well on February 3, we were at our Sunday School party. Crystal and Michael hosted it for us. Let me introduce them to you...

First you have Alan and I.

Jamie and Bradley.

Zack and Jill...I mean Brittany and K-fed.

Then Crystal and Michael as trash and trashcan.

Russ and Shelley...I mean the Hulk and his wife!

Jennifer and Chayne as Raggedy Ann and Andy.

Scott and Angela...as Scott's parents.

Morgan and John... as Zack and Kelly from Saved by the Bell.

And last but not least sweet little baby Charlotte. She belongs to Anna and Michael!

We had a great time as you can tell! We are so thankful for the friends God has blessed us with here in Athens!

Cornflake candy, Neiman Marcus cookies, and new lamps...

Alan and I host a connect group for other nearly/newlywed couples from our church. We meet every Sunday night except for the first Sunday night of the month. We all bring finger foods and eat. We have a devotion time. Then we split the guys and girls up for prayer time. It has really helped us meet and get to know so many couples. When we first started going to Watkinsville First, there was not a group for people our age. So rather than go to another group, we decided we would start one. It has been such a blessing! This afternoon I made Neiman Marcus cookies, and cornflake candy. Both are just delightful. And thanks to my Mom for the cute Valentine's platter/bowl.

Yesterday we stopped into Hobby Lobby to look for a curtain rod. We got a curtain rod with our 40% off coupon. And we found these great lamps for our bedroom. The great thing about them is they were originally $119.00. And we got them for $23.00. Needless to say I am psyched about them!

First

Well, I have been wanting to start a blog for some time now. For whatever reason, I just haven't done it yet. So tonight I figured I would just go ahead and start one up.

Just to explain where the name of the blog came from. Everyone knows that is probably my most overused phrase ever!

So glad it's Friday. This week has been so incredibly busy at work. Yesterday I worked a whopping 15 hour day! Three of those hours in the middle of the night literally. I am just so exhausted. I am on call this weekend. BLAH!

I made a huge pot of vegetable soup tonight and some cornbread muffins. There is just something delightful about soup and wintertime. I just love it!

Alan finished our taxes tonight. We are getting back less than we got last year. But we are happy that we do not owe Uncle Sam. Hopefully, we can order our bedroom suite we have been watching for weeks now. It will be so nice to have something substantial, something that is ours, that we will have for a really long time. The room is painted. The bedding is waiting. All we need is furniture to complete the room. SO exciting!

Looking forward to relaxing tomorrow. I love Saturdays!

Well...I guess I am off to get some sleep!
